If you’ve noticed a change in your bum post-baby, here’s what you need to know.
As your center of gravity shifts forward during pregnancy it can overactive some muscles (like your hip flexors) while under-activating others (your glutes).
Strong glutes help to stabilize your knees, spine, and hips.
They support hip extension and can help you reduce your risk of pelvic pain.
Chances are you did a lot more sitting late in your third trimester and postpartum, so it only makes sense that your glutes are a little sleepy.
The problem is: If you don’t use it, you lose it.
That doesn’t mean you can’t get it back. The key is to choose the right exercises that will help you get there safely. This is a major focus of our GrowCo. Group rehab program.
Our goal is to bring women together and empower them with the knowledge and understanding to help build a strong buffer of health for years to come.
It’s not about starting over, it’s about doing better. Want to get on the list for our next group rehab session? Send me a DM.
